Epitalon and telomeres: separating the signal from the noise in longevity peptide research
What the published Epitalon record can support, where methodology limits interpretation and why independent replication matters.
Why telomeres attract attention
Telomere biology provides measurable markers related to cellular ageing, but a biomarker shift is not equivalent to a demonstrated health outcome.
The Epitalon record
Much of the discussion traces to a concentrated research programme. Those findings are scientifically interesting, while their interpretation depends on study design, reporting quality and independent verification.
Methodology questions
Useful review questions include randomisation, blinding, sample size, prespecified outcomes and whether later groups reproduced the same observations.
What would change the evidence grade
Transparent protocols, independent replication and appropriately controlled human studies would materially strengthen the record. Until then, claims should remain proportionate to the underlying evidence.
